JAMMU, May 23: the Crime Branch Jammu has booked eight persons for cheating innocent people on the pretext of providing them jobs.
A case FIR number 09/2014 under Section 420,465, 467,468,471,120-B RPC has been registered against Abdul Rashid Pandit of Handipora, Rafiabad Asthan Mohallah, Baramulla, Mudasir Nabi Teli of Mansooa Baramulla, Mehraj Din of Mughal Mohalla, Karan Nagar, Srinagar, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat of Fatehpora, Baramulla, Farooq Ahmed Dar of Hamrai Pattan, Baramulla, Fayaz Ahmed Bhat of Handwara, Baramulla, Irshad Ahmed Dar of Harai, Pattan Baramulla and Manzoor Ahmed Ganie of Sherpora Pattan, Baramulla. They induced their victims and collected an amount of one crore rupees from them on the pretext of providing them jobs.
The investigation into the matter was initiated following direction of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu over a complaint by one Mohammad Ayoob who alleged that the accused persons introduced themselves with him as influential who were looking for some candidates for the post of Class-IV in Kashmir. The accused claimed that necessary arrangements could be made by them subject to payment of money. In this regard they also showed some appointment orders of various candidates in order to gain confidence of the complainant. On this allurement the complainant, who wanted his relatives to be appointed against these posts, paid an amount of Rs 5 lacs to the accused persons on the assurance that five persons shall be engaged as Class-IV in different departments. Similarly, an amount of Rs 2 and Rs 2.50 lac was also paid by Ghulam Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed to the accused persons, who were nothing but cheats. They duped the complainant and other victims of an amount of Rs one crores on the pretext of providing them appointment orders, which were fake, forged and fabricated.
