Srinagar, June 29: Government today said 7686 persons were fined/ challaned for using mobile phone while driving during last three years.
In a written reply to a question of legislator, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Minister Incharge Home said 1260 persons were penalized in year 2013, 1806 in 2014 and 1857 in 2015.
The Minister said 3, 29, 911 persons have been fined/ challaned for not wearing helmets while driving their bikes, during the last three years and the current year. “Similarly, 15416 vehicles have been seized during the last three years and the current year,” the Minister informed Upper House.
