73 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, July 20: Udhampur Police rescued 73 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers and seized five vehicles besides arresting three accused persons.
Reports said that Police party of Police Station Udhampur, headed by SHO Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters, Sahil Mahajan, intercepted four vehicles during naka at Jakhani NHW.
During checking, 37 bovines were found loaded in these vehicles bearing registration number JK14H- 7327, JK14D-9287, JK01AG-5575 and JK20B-1603. Police rescued the bovine animals and arrested drivers of three vehicles, who were identified as Mohd Bilal son of Manzoor Ahmed of Tikri, Akram Hussain son of Mir Hussain of Krimchi and Ishaq Hussain son of Farooq Ahmed of Kulgam while driver of the fourth vehicle managed to escape.
Four FIRs bearing number. 297/298/305/308 of 2022, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
In another success, Police party of PS Chenani, headed by SHO Om Parkash, under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Ahmed Shaafi, intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK14B- 8523 and rescued 36 bovines at Motor Shed naka point Chenani. Driver of truck, however, manage to give a slip to the Police party.
In this regards, case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Chenani.
