700 pay obeisance at Budha Amarnath shrine

POONCH, Aug 26: On the 8th day of the ongoing annual Budha Amarnathji Yatra, 700 yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Shrine.
Till today, nearly 15000 yatris have paid obeisance including 4961 from outside the State. The final batch of 138 yatris from outside the State, reached Poonch this evening. They will have night stay in Poonch town.
Yatra will enter the concluding phase  tomorrow with the departure of Holy Mace (Chhari Mubarak) from Dashnami Akhara, Poonch.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh will flag off the procession carrying the Holy Mace from Dashnami Akhara, to mark the final rituals of the annual sojourn at the Holy shrine at Mandi town.
After covering a distance of about 20 kms on-foot, the Chharri Yatra  will conclude at Mandi in the evening.  People from all religions will participate in this procession. On the way at Chandak and Mandi, local Muslims will receive the yatris.
Under supervision of  Deputy Commissioner, Poonch Nisar Ahmed Wani and Senior Superintendent of Police, J S Johar,  District Administration has made all the arrangements to ensure that the pilgrims do not face inconvenience.
