SAMBA, Jan 3: Police seized seven vehicles, which were engaged in illegally transporting of construction material and mining.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Ghagwal during checking at Tapyal seized four vehicles bearing Registration Numbers JK08G-0986, JK08N-9970, JK21F-6399 and JK20-2894, which were illegal transporting construction material (sand).
In another similar incident, a team from Police Station Ramgarh Police during patrolling seized a tractor for illegally transporting construction material (sand).
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Vijaypur seized a tipper bearing Registration Number JK21E-1215 at check point Sangwal for illegal transporting construction material (sand).
All the 6 vehicles were seized and cases entrusted to Geology and Mining Department, Samba for further action.
However, acting on reliable information regarding illegal mining, a team from Police Station Purmandal raided the spot and seized a tractor bearing Registration Number JK02BN-7173 which was engaged in illegal mining alongside Basanter river bed near village Pacholi.
A case under FIR Number 1/2021 under Section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Purmandal and investigation started.
