MENDHAR, Sept 28: Seven Social Welfare (SWD) employees were suspended by SDM Mendhar for being absent from duty.
Official sources said that on the directions of SDM Mendhar Sher Singh, Naib Tehsildar Mohd Kabir and his staff paid visit to Nari Niketan and then went to CDPO office. He found three employees of CDPO office absent from duty. They were Shafkat Ahmed and Nazir Ahmed senior assistants and Showkat Ahmed, junior assistant.
At Nari Niketan he found four employees including Superintendent Champa Devi absent from duty. They had not entered attendance after Sept 25 in the register. They included Shehnaz Akhtar care taker, Mohd Sharief Chowkidar and Cook Mohd Rafiq. A girl / inmate was cooking food for 30 other girls of the Nari Niketan when team arrived. They also found Nari Niketan/ Home in dilapidated condition.
Then he reported the matter to SDM who placed all these employees under suspension. Their salary was also stopped.
