RAJOURI, Sept 22: At least seven passengers were injured after a speeding and uncontrolled auto-rikshaw overturned on the road at Kikar Mode, Khevra in Rajouri city today.
A police official said that an auto was going from Old Bus Stand Rajouri towards Khevra. The driver of speeding auto lost his control and the auto overturned on the road at Kikar Mode, in which seven passengers who were travelling in it were injured.
Hearing the screams, people shifted the passengers to GMC Rajouri where their treatment is going on and their condition is said to be stable. The auto driver got the opportunity and ran away from the spot.
The injured are identified as Shaden Aktar (35), wife of Mohd Hafeez from Mendhar; Mohd Sadeeq (52), son of Munshi from Salwa in Mandhar; Shokit Ali (18), son of Mohd Rayaz from Salwa; Shan Choudhry (3 Yrs), son of Shabaz Ahmed from Gamerbramna; Rafia Kosar (23), wife of Shabaz of Gamerbramna; Aftab Ahmed (19_, son of Mohd Kalil. From Peer Kanjo and Aksar Nasar (15), daughter of Mohd Nasar from Dadasanbala.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the matter and seized the auto while search for the absconding driver was launched.
