JAMMU, July 21: Pounichak police arrested seven persons along with Rs 42,500 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pounichak police post conducted raid and apprehended seven gamblers along with Rs 42,500 stake money and playing cards.
The arrested persons have been identified as Prithpal Singh, son of Raj Singh, Jagjit Singh, son of Bhagat Singh, Gurmeet Singh, son of Avtar Singh and Amrik Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh, all residents of Camp Gole Gujral, Daleep Kumar, son of Raju Ram of Tarlokpur, Harjeet Singh, son of Mohinder Singh of Miran Sahib and Jeet Kumar, son of Ram Chand of Saari.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pounichak police post SI Sumit Magotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector RS Rana, SDPO Domana Verinder Singh and SP Rural Jammu Arun Gupta.
