JAMMU, July 13: Comrade Dhanwantri Manch, All India Students’ Federation (AISF), Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Committee (DBYC) and Punjab National Bank Officers Association (PNBOA) remembered Comrade Dhanwantri on his 69 Death Anniversary, today.
To commemorate the death anniversary of Comrade Dhanwantri, a meeting was organized today at Jammu by the Comrade Dhanwantri Manch. The meeting was presided over by JA Kazmi and KK Pangotra, senior advocates and proceedings were conducted by the president of the Manch, Hari Chand Jalmria Advocate. Participants paid rich tributes to Comrade Dhanwantri who was born and received school education at Jammu, and thereafter, joined Ayurvedic Course in DAV College Lahore.
President of the Manch H C Jalmeria said that Dhanwantri worked jointly with Shaheed-e Aazm Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Azad, Shiv Verma, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Sukhdev, Rajguru and Batukeshwar Dutt in the Indian freedom struggle. Dhanwantri was the main guiding force behind making land reforms in this state besides guiding the framing of the J&K State’s Constitution, he added.
In a separate function organized at Comrade Dhanvantri Park in Jammu, AISF, DBYC and PNBOA jointly remembered Comrade Dhanwantri. On the occasion, president AISF J&K Comrade Sanjay Kotwal said that Comrade Dhanvantri was only the man from the erstwhile state who worked with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukhdev, Ishfaqullah Khan and other revolutionaries. He said Comrade Dhanwantri was a freedom fighter and the founder of Communist Party of India (CPI) in J&K.
Comrade ID Khajuria, Hardeep Singh Deep, Talvinder Singh, Gittan Singh, Ashwani Pradhan, Narinder Khajuria, Shiv Rattan Singh, Nirmal Singh, Surjeet Singh Dhowan and many more were present on the occasion.
