Udhampur, May 25: A young girl of 24 years was allegedly raped by a man of 60 years in a village of Ramnagar tehsil, here today.
Police has arrested the accused, identified as Deen Mohd (60) of village Frol in Ramnagar. He allegedly raped the victim when she had gone to a nearby forest area for grazing domestic animals.
The accused fled the scene after committing crime while the victim reported the matter to her family members who lodged a written complaint at Ramnagar Police Station.
Acting on the complaint, Police registered a case under Section 376 and arrested the accused rapist for further investigation.
