JAMMU, May 12: Six Vaishno Devi pilgrims were injured when a car they were traveling in met with an accident on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near 17 Miles at Vijaypur in Samba district.
“Six pilgrims, who were heading towards Punjab in a car after paying obeisance at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine sustained injuries when their car this afternoon collided with an auto-rickshaw near 17 Miles at Vijaypur in Samba district,” police spokesman here said.
The injured were identified as Jaspreet Singh (26), wife of Buta Singh, Sunita (22), wife of Paramjeet Singh, Sandeep (14), daughter of Mohinder Singh, Joginder Kour (50), daughter of Rashpal Singh, Sandeep Singh (22), daughter of Puro Singh, Lakhbir Kour (52), wife of Mohinder Singh, all residents of Punjab. They were immediately shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for treatment.
Their condition is stated to be out of danger.
A case has been registered and investigations are in progress.
