JAMMU, Oct 20: Six artists from Jammu displayed their Art work at the 85th All India Exhibition of Arts-2019 held at Amritsar.
Six artists namely – Bhushan Kesar, Gaurav Kapoor, Bhupinder Singh Sasan, Payal Chadha Gupta, Shruti Arora and Mahua Gupta, from the city of temples-Jammu displayed their art works at Amritsar Exhibition, organised by Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA) today at the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Madan Mohan Malviya Road, Amritsar.
Bhushan Kesar, an-eminent artist and founder of Kesar Art Circle for the last 45 years known for his colourful strokes displayed his abstract art work ‘Harmonising Forms’.
While the works of other artists -Gaurav Kapoor’s sketch work ‘Capture the moment’, Bhupinder Singh Sasan’s Sketch work ‘Survival’ and painting ‘Serenity’ are displayed.
Payal Chadha Gupta’s ‘Internal Love’, ‘The Red Lady’ by Shruti Arora and ‘Life On the Strings’- by Mahua Gupta – all paintings are exhibited in the exhibition.
Ram Vanji Sutar, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Shree recipient, known for creating 50 monumental sculptures and most importantly the man behind India’s tallest statue-‘Statue of Unity’ made his presence as the chief guest of the event.
The exhibition had around 793 art works by 421 artists across the country out of which 302 Works that include 138 paintings, 56 drawings, 46 graphics, 30 photographs and 32 sculptures got selected and were exhibited.
An award ceremony was held where participants were awarded and given participation certificates.
The works of artists from Jammu were appreciated by the chief guest and visited by art connoisseur across the country.
