REASI, Jan 2: At least six persons were injured today when a Tempo Traveller skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Thanpal area of Reasi district.
The tempo, bearing registration number JK02BM-5108, was on way from Mahore to Reasi, when it met with the accident.
The accident took place because of alleged negligence of the driver, who was continuously talking to a nearby seated passenger while driving the vehicle at very fast speed. Even as the driver was regularly interrupted by other passengers to move slow and stop gossiping, he did not listen to the suggestion.
The injured were identified as Chinta Devi (25), wife of Chinar Singh of Sarh Bagga, Kamar Din (60), son of Abdul Gaffar of Mahore, Rashid (16), son of Mohd Ashraff of Mallas Mahore, Raj Begum (42), wife of Bashir Ahmed of Sarh Mahore, Noor Begum wife of Kamar Din of Mahore and Ahmed Din of Bagga.
