JAMMU, Dec 16: Police arrested six persons along with Rs 21,380 stake money and playing cards from Rajpura area, falling under the jurisdiction of Sarwal police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Sarwal police post conducted raid in Rajpura and nabbed six gamblers along with Rs 21.380 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Pardeep Sharma, son of Dass Sharma, Davinder Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, Mohinder Bhagat, son of Romesh Lal, Mohammad Farooq, son of Akbar Ali and Aman Kumar, son of Om Parkash, all residents of Rajpura and Bodh Raj, son of Gulla Ram of Pouni Chak.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered against them at Sarwal police post and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Sarwal police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar police station, SDPO West Vivek Shekhar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chauhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
