POONCH, Dec 15: At least half a dozen villages in Gursai-Harmutta area are without water as the local Pumping Station of the PHE Department was lying out of order for the last about four weeks.
A village elder Liaqat Ali disclosed that the motor of the Pumping Sation under Gursai-Harmutta Water Supply Scheme in Mendhar Sub Division went out of order about month back. Despite the lapse of about four weeks now, the concerned authorities have failed to repair the motor and restore water.
He said PHE authorities claim that it was job of Mechanical wing while the Mech staff was passing the buck to the PHE Sub Division Mendhar. The matter was also reported to the Sub Divisional level officials of the department and concerned Tehsildar but there was no respite to the people.
The villager further claimed that even the transformer / dedicated feeder installed at the Pumping Station by PDD has gone out of order, that too, has not been replaced or repaired by the concerned PDD officials. The public of these half a dozen villages has been left to suffer badly.
