UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: Udhampur Police today recovered six gms of contraband substance (Chitta) from two narcotic smugglers who were arrested from Circular road near Main Bazaar, Udhampur.
Reports said that a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Insp Sanjeev Chib, under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, laid a surprise naka at Circular Road near Main Bazaar, Udhampur and intercepted a car bearing registration number DL 4CR 3989, which was subjected to thorough search.
During search of said vehicle, six gms of heroin (Chitta) was recovered. The narcotic smugglers, identified as Shubham Gupta, son of Yash Pal of Ward number 08, Udhampur and Harjeet Singh son of Harvinder Singh of Ward number 2 Udhampur, were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR number 04/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
Worthwhile to mention here that both the accused were also involved in some NDPS case registered earlier at Police Station Udhampur.
