6 drug-peddlers held with heroin, charas in Rajouri

JAMMU, Oct 29:  The police seized 140 gms of charas  and 12 gms of heroin  and arrested  six drug-peddlers in district Rajouri today.
Giving details, a senior police official said that acting on a specific information, SHO Manjakote, Iqbal Choudhary laid naka on  Rajouri-Poonch highway during the day today and intercepted Scorpio  vehicle No. JK02AX/ 9333 and during search of the vehicle recovered 12 gms of heroin from the possession of the people travelling in the vehicle. It was on way to Rajouri from Poonch side.
The police seized the vehicle along with drugs  and arrested all the three persons on board the vehicle. They have been identified as Mushtaq Hussain Shah, son of Nazir Hussain Shah, resident of Targain; Asif Raza Khan, son of  Mohd Aslam Khan, resident of Mendhar  and Moin Majeed Mir, son of Majid Mir, resident of Kheora, Rajouri.
The police also recovered a digital weighing machine being used for weighing drugs from them. Lighters along with rolled currency notes  of Rs 10 denomination, in semi burnt condition in the shape of cigarette,  having filled with some stuff/ drugs, were also recovered from their possession.
The police registered a case FIR No. 93/ 2017 under sections 8/21/22/29 of NDPS Act against them.
Another police party from Thannamandi led by SDPO, Iftikhar Choudhary intercepted an Alto car No. JK-11/2248 at Begonad Naka   this morning  and during search, recovered nearly 140 gms of charas from the vehicle. Three persons travelling in this car were also nabbed by police. The vehicle was on way to Rajouri from Shopian side of Kashmir.
Those arrested were identified as Irfan Fazal, son of Fazal Ahmed, resident of Mir Bazaar, Kulgam; Ranjit Menia, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and Naseem, son of  Nazir Hussain, resident of Ward No. 2, Rajouri. The police registered a case at Thannamandi Police Station and started investigation. SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas has lauded action of both the police parties.
