SRINAGAR: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief G A Mir and Mufti Tassaduq of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were among six candidates seeking mandate from Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, going to polls on April 12.

Representation Act 1951, Mohammad Yaseen Paswal an Independent candidate has withdrawn his candidature today, the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers. After Paswal’s withdrawal, six candidates including Ghulam Ahmad Mir of INC-NC (joint candidate), Mufti Tassaduq of PDP, Sanjay Kumar Dhar of Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (S), Ghulam Mohammad Wani of All J&K Kissan Mazdoor Party, and Independent candidates, Rakesh Koul and Sajad Ahmad Dar are now in fray for the seat going to polls on April 12.
