SAMBA, Oct 7: The police nabbed a bovine smuggler and seized vehicles carrying six animals after a hot chase in Samba area early today.
Reports said a police party from Ghagwal led by SHO intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle near Jatwal on National Highway during wee hours but the vehicle jumped the Naka and sped away towards Jammu. The SHO chased the vehicle and intercepted it near Bus Stand, Samba. The driver jumped away while his associate was captured by police party. Six bovine animals were loaded in the vehicle. The police seized vehicle along with animals and registered case against the accused persons.
The smuggler nabbed was identified as Nazir Ahmed of Sidhra, Jammu. The driver has been identified by police.
