UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: Two cows, 2 dogs and one cat were charred to death after a cattle-shed caught fire in Upper Meer (Lma-Kutra) area of block Panchari, Udhampur.
Locals said that a massive fire broke out in the cattle-shed of Dhyan Singh, son of Chatar Singh, resident of Upper-Meer (Lama-Kutra) of block Panchari, late last night.
The landlord saw smoke coming out from the nearby cattle shed and on reaching there, he saw the shed engulfed in huge flames.
Soon people from the neighbourhood also gathered there and attempted to extinguish the fire on their own. Before the blazes could be controlled, six animals had burnt alive.
