JAMMU, Oct 3: Fifty-seven fresh cases of dengue were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 213.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 1177 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 213 cases have been found positive and reports of 704 have been found negative while result of 256 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 213 dengue cases, maximum 189 have been reported in Jammu district followed by five in Doda district, Four each in Rajouri and Udhampur districts, three in Samba and one each has been reported from Poonch and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 213 dengue patients, 139 were adults (87 males and 52 females) and 74 were children (46 males and 28 females).
“So far dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their home after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
