NEW DELHI: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman Dr K Sivan on Friday said that India needs 54 more satellites in next five years to cater the different needs of the country.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Sivan said that India has 47 satellites working in the space and more satellites are required as per the growing needs.
Talking about the Gaganyan manned mission for December 2021, he said that Indian Space programme is much more advanced than that of China. “They (Chinese) have accomplished their manned mission but when the India will launch its human space flight in 2021, we will also come at par with China”, Mr Sivan said.
India is to launch its first manned mission to space through ‘Gaganyan’ in December 2021. Before launching this project, ISRO will launch first unmanned mission in December 2020 and second one in July 2021. (AGENCIES)
