51 Tehsildars posts referred to PSC: Govt

JAMMU, Feb 12: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Hanjura today informed the Upper House that 51 Tehsildars vacancies have been referred to J&K PSC for recruitment and subsequent filling us of vacant posts.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Firdous Ahmad Tak in this regard.
Minister informed the House that the post of Sub Divisional Magistrate Marwah stands filled recently and the requisite powers under the J&K Grant of Permanent Resident Certificates (Procedure) Act 1963 are also being conferred upon him shortly.
Responding further, the Minister said that the vacant posts of Tehsildars falling within the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Marwah would also be filled up as soon as the officers become available.
He, however, said a number of vacant posts of Tehsildars under direct quota are being looked after by senior Naib Tehsildars as an interim measure and the Government, vide notification SRO 52, dated 8.2.2017, has conferred the powers of Assistant Collector of the 1st class upon the three Incharge Naib Tehsildars within the jurisdiction of Tehsils.
