50 trapped vehicles on Mughal Road cleared

POONCH, July 26:  The Army and Civil Administration in a swift operation cleared at  least fifty vehicles trapped on Mughal Road during last mid night.
Official sources said that due to  heavy rain last evening in higher reaches of Poonch,  land slides took place at least at three places between Peer Gali and Behramgalla  and at least fifty vehicles including some passenger vehicles were stranded. Nearly 150 passengers were trapped  on the highway.
SSP Poonch received message about the trapping of vehicles and passengers on Mughal Road. He deputed SDPO Surankote Mohd Riaz and SHO  along with team and also sought Army help to clear the highway.
Later, the Army and Police along with R&B authorities started operation and cleared the road during mid night and rescued the trapped passengers. The Army also provided food/ eatables etc to many passengers.  The  operation was completed by 1.30 am.
