50 bovines with 8 vehicles seized, 9 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Udhampur police, foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in which 50 bovine animals were rescued, nine bovine smugglers arrested and eight vehicle seized under the jurisdiction of Police Station  Rehmbal and Chenani in five different cases.
Giving details, SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary said, based on a reliable information, a Police party of led by SHO OP Chib laid a naka on highway in the wee hours, and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK02AG/4464 which was on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir. During the thorough search of the Vehicle, 11 bovine animals were found packed inside this vehicle. The accused smuggler namely Muzaffar Rashid  son of  Abdul Rashid  from Dooru (Anantnag was) arrested and bovine animals rescued. The vehicle used was also seized.
In second case Tikri, police party led by I/C Police Post SI Suresh Goutam laid a surprise naka and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK03-4412   which was on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir. During search of the vehicle, 11 bovine animals were found packed in the vehicle. The accused smugglers  namely Riyaz Ahmed Bhatt son of Abdul Rashid  of Qazigund Anantnag, Ishfaq Ahmed Lone son of Mohd Yousif  of Qazigund were arrested on spot and bovine animals rescued. The vehicle used was also seized.
In third case, Tikri police intercepted 4 Tata Mobiles, bearing registration Nos JK023C-9322, JK02AF/8572, JK14C-0855 and JK03C/1193   which were on way from Jammu towards Kashmir. During the search of these vehicles, 13 bovine animals were found packed inside. The accused smugglers  namely Sajad Ahmed  son of  Irshad Ahmed of Kandiwar Anantnag, Sajad Ahmed son of Mohd Altaf of Kokernag  were arrested and bovine animals rescued. The vehicle used were also seized.
In another case  in the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani, a police party led by Inspector Ajit Singh SHO laid a surprise naka near Chenani in the wee hours and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK03C-3879 which was on its way to Kashmir. During the search, 11 bovine animals were found loaded. The accused smugglers namely Manzoor Ahmed son of Abdul Subhan of Bankoot, Banihal, Bashir Ahmed son of Kalu from Mazmoo, Anantnag were arrested on spot and bovine animals rescued. The vehicle used was also seized.
In 5th case Chenani police intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration No. JK02AX/5984   which was on its way from Jammu towards Kashmir. During the search of the vehicle, 4 bovine animals were found packed inside this Vehicle. The accused smugglers namely Mirza son of Ibrahim from Nandni Kirpalpur, Jammu, Mohd Mirza son of Bashir Ahmed of Satwari Jammu were arrested on spot and bovine animals rescued. The vehicle used was also seized.
