JAMMU, Oct 13: Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur, R S Jain today awarded five years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 50,000 to Shabu Ahmed, son of Bundan Mian of UP, who was facing trial in charas smuggling case.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the facts as proved in the present case are that the accused was consciously transporting charas. The drug menace in the State of J&K is increasing day by day and completely destroying the society and its youth”.
With these observations, court awarded rigorous imprisonment for a period of five years and a fine of Rs 50,000 to the narco smuggler.
