SRINAGAR: Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and two police personnel were among seven people injured in a grenade attack by militants in historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the summer capital, Srinagar, on Sunday evening.
Official sources said militants lobbed a hand grenade on Sunday evening at a security force patrol party near Paladium in Lal Chowk, resulting in injuries to three CRPF, two policemen and two civilians, including a woman. “The injured were immediately taken to a hospital,” they said.
They said the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness, adding additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers. (AGENCIES)
