Srinagar, Jan 5: Five persons including two minors were found dead probably due to asphyxiation in Bemina area of Srinagar this morning.
Police believed that the deaths have been caused due to suffocation due to gas heater. They were residents of Tanghdar area of Kupwara district and were tenants in the area. The dead include two women, two children and a man.
Police said that in this morning, they received information by Police Post Bemina that five persons who were living as tenants at Mansoor Colony, Bemina are lying unconscious in their rented room.
A police team from Police Post Bemina rushed to the spot and shifted all the five persons to JVC Hospital for treatment where doctors declared them as brought dead.

They have been identified as Khursheed Ahmad, 45, son of Abdul Rashid, his wife Gulshan Jan, 45, his two sons Faizan Ahmad, 8, and Furkan Ahmad, 5, and his mother Rashmea Jan, 65, all residents of Batpora, Tanghdar.
The family had taken room on rent last week as one of the family members was being treated at SKIMS hospital in Bemina Hospital. After completion of all medico legal formalities, the bodies are being shifted to their native village.
Police have initiated a probe to ascertain the cause of their death.
SSP Srinagar Imtiaz Ismail Parray said that the deaths seems to have been caused due to suffocation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah said the bodies could not be airlifted to Tanghdar, native village of the deceased due to bad weather conditions and poor visibility. However, he said that the bodies will be airlifted to Tanghdar tomorrow morning.
