JAMMU, Dec 9: The Government today allocated four districts each to five Ministers for ensuring better coordination, effective implementation of developmental programmes, closer monitoring of public services and other issues pertaining to the districts.

There are a total of 20 districts in Jammu and Kashmir and since there are only five Ministers in Omar Abdullah Government, each of them has been allotted four districts each.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary has been given the charge of Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag and Shopian districts.
Sakina Masood (Itoo), Minister for Health and Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, was given the charge of Kupwara, Srinagar, Kathua and Samba districts.
Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment & Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana will be Incharge of Doda, Rajouri, Pulwama and Baramulla districts.
Javid Ahmad Dar, Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Elections has been given the charge of Ganderbal, Budgam, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science Technology, Youth Services and Sports and ARI & Trainings was given the charge of Reasi, Udhampur, Kulgam and Bandipora districts.
