Anti encroachment drive at Ghagwal

SAMBA, Sept 3: Continuing its anti encroachment drive in the district, district administration Samba under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today carried out an anti encroachment drive at village Tapyal in Ghagwal area and retrieved around five kanals of State land.
The anti encroachment team led by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal, Ram Kesh Sharma, Tehsildar Ghagwal Raman Chalotra, SHO Kuldeep Raj besides other revenue and police officials reached the encroached site and pressed a JCB machine into action and dismantled the under construction sheds, concrete walls, Shuttering and other RCC pavements.
Giving details of today’s anti encroachment drive SDM Ghagwal, Ram Kesh Sharma , informed that on Khasra Number 676 having five Kanals of State land and a water body was being illegally encroached and a construction work was going on it, clandestinely. However, as soon as the reports surfaced at district administration corridors regarding illegal construction, immediate action was ensured after due verification. During the two hour long anti encroachment drive the building constructed were completely razed to ground and FIR has also been registered against the culprits.
District Administration Samba in a series of consecutive anti encroachment drives across the district for past one week has retrieved State land measuring 100 Kanals at Birpur triple S plant, 510 Kanals at Arazi, Samba, nine Kanals at Katli, Samba and in today’s drive five Kanals at Tapyal, Ghagwal.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba has earlier passed directions towards all the revenue officers in the district to diligently and thoroughly verify their revenue records with the actual on ground reports and in case of any discrepancy immediate communication should be made with office of Deputy Commissioner for further action.
