5 Jammu students still stuck in war scarred Kharkiv, 25 others in transit

JAMMU, Mar 2: Five students from Jammu district, studying in Ukraine, are still stuck in the war ravaged country even as 25 others are in transit while 15 have safely reached home so far.
Total 45 persons from Jammu district, all students except two, were stranded in different parts of Ukraine when tension erupted there following movement of Russian troops to invade the country.
Official sources told the Excelsior that 15 of them have safely reached home so far while 25 of them are in transit and reached at neighbouring Poland, Hungry and Solavia borders.
However, sources added, five students from Jammu are still stuck in worst hit Kharkiv city and taking shelter in bunkers or metro stations there.
They include Khwaish, daughter of Yog Raj of Shant Nagar Kunjwani; Diksha Khanna, daughter of Tarun Khanna of Lane number 4, Extension 1A Green Avenue, Trikuta Nagar; Gowhar Tanzeel, son of Gowhar Galib of Talab Khatikan; Jasleen Kaur, daughter of Jatinderpaul Singh of Channi Himmat and Ishan Bhagat, son of Dr Anoop Kumar of Mahesh Pura, near GMC Jammu.
All of them are students of Kharkiv National Medical University, Kharkiv and reports said that they are unable to move out of the bunkers because of heavy shelling in the area even as efforts are underway for their evacuation.
Among the 25 people, who are in transit, Ramndeep Singh, son of Gurmeet Singh of Malikpur, Miran Sahib, R S Pura; Kamran Ahmed Rana, son of Babu Hussain of Quarter Gulshan Ground and Navjot Singh, son of Manjeet Singh of Channi Himmat have reached Poland Romania.
Similarly, Umesh Goel of Gandhi Nagar has reached Romani border, Nidhi Sharma of Gurah Brahmana at Hungary Airport, Harshita Khajuria of Talab Tillo at UK in her uncle’s house, Albina Meraj of Ustad Mohalla and Tamanna Mushtaq Malik of Sunjwan at Hungary.
Arshdeep Singh of Govindpur Chatha and Kumar Sahil of Miran Sahib have reached Poland borders while Ayush Raina of Janipur, Vikas Rana of Channi Rama and Shashvat Gupta of New Rehari have reached Hungary.
Adnan Nawaz of Sunjwan has purportedly reached at Slovia borders while Aryan Dubey of Canal Road has reached Romania. Arjun Gandotra of New Plot is 15 kms away from Kharkiv while Milach Kandayara of Residency Road has reached Hungary border.
These people are on way to home and the District Control Room is constantly monitoring the situation while remaining in touch with the concerned families, said Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg.
Akhil Gupta of Trikuta Nagar and Neeta Bakshi of Munshi Chak in Gole Gujaral, who are doing job in Kyiv, are purportedly staying there and not moved out of the capital city.
As per the official reports, 15 persons from Jammu district, all students, have so far safely reached home from Ukraine.
These included Sajan Panjotra of Miran Sahib, Kamil Kumar of Simbal Morh, Apoorva Magotra of Channi Himmat, Akarshan Bakshi of Satwari, Ridhi Goja of Upper Muthi, Pranav Sagar, Devyani Singh of Miran Sahib, Kanika Sharma of Bikram Chowk, Kunwar Arinpratap Didwal of Ban Talab, Tavishi Raina of Resham Ghar, Prabjyot Singh of R S Pura, Trimbkesh Dutta of Resham Ghar, Sabi Singh of Nanak Nagar, Rekha Saini of village Marole in Arnia and Manasvi Sharma of Nanak Nagar.
