REASI, Jan 16: Five labourers were injured and some machines got damaged in landslide at the Railway Tunnel site at Sawalkote in Arnas, here last night.

Reports said that the landslide took place at Tunnel number 13, P2 end point at Sawalkote Railway site. Though there was no major tragedy, five labourers sleeping near the site sustained minor injuries while some machinery and containers were damaged in the landslide.
According to the officials of Vensar Construction Company Ltd (VCCL, the incessant rainfall caused the landsliding near the Tunnel site where the work had already been stopped a few days back.
However, locals have demanded a through enquiry into matter and alleged that the construction company risked the lives of labourers. They said that company should have raised compound wall for the safety of workers and others.
