JAMMU, Apr 14: Five passengers were injured, when the mini-bus they were traveling in was hit by a bus near Shakuntla theatre, falling under the jurisdiction of police post Rehari.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14B5243 was on its way to Bagh-e-Bahu from Janipur, when a bus bearing registration number JK02BE-8575 hit the vehicle near Shakuntla theatre, resulting into injuries to 5 passengers.
On getting information, police team from Rehari police post led by SI Rattan Singh rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the injured were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in police and other vehicles, where their condition was stated to be out of danger when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Sunny Sharma, son of Jagdish Raj Sharma, Ram Krishan, son of Shanker Dass and Sunita, daughter of Chain Singh, trio residents of Janipur, Sunil Kumar (conductor of mini-bus), son of Pritam Chand of Manwal and Ram Naresh, son of Babu Ram of Uttar Pradesh, presently residing in Bhagwati Nagar.
The driver of the bus identified as Surinder Singh, son of Chandu Ram of district Kathua has been arrested, while the manhunt has been launched to nab the driver of the mini-bus namely Raj Ali, son of Kaka Hussain of Paloura, Janipur, who escaped from the spot after the incident.
A case under FIR number 66/14 has been registered at police post Rehari and investigation started.
