JAMMU, Nov 2: Police today arrested five gamblers along with Rs 3,000 stake money and play cards from Sarore area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bishnah Police Station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Bishnah Police Station led by SHO Narinder Singh conducted a raid at Sarore and apprehended five gamblers.
The gamblers have been identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Tek Chand, Surinder Singh, son of Gurdev Singh, Sudesh Singh, son of Kehar Singh, Balwan Singh, son of Kesar Singh and Swaran Singh, son of Ganderabh Singh, all residents of Sarore, he added.
“Rs 3,000 stake money and play cards were also recovered from the spot”, he said.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
