SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Kashmir reported 398 fresh cases of coronavirus today taking the number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 84708 while five people died of COVID in Valley increasing the death toll in J&K to 1343.
Srinagar reported 145 cases, Budgam 35, Baramulla 53, Pulwama 43, Kupwara 18, Anantnag 14, Bandipora 24, Ganderbal 22, Kulgam 9 and Shopian 1.
Srinagar has 16901 positive cases with 1721 active, 14860 recovered, 320 deaths; Baramulla has 4963 positive cases with 1459 active, 3372 recovered, 132 deaths; Pulwama reported 4290 positive cases with 295 active cases, 3921 recovered, 74 deaths; Kulgam has 2349 positive cases with 84 active, 2222 recoveries, 43 deaths; Shopian has 2102 positive cases with 106 active, 1964 recovered, 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3815 positive cases with 346 active Positive, 3399 recovered, 70 deaths; Budgam has 5472 positive cases with 653 active and 4729 recovered, 90 deaths; Kupwara has 3944 positive cases with 617 active, 3257 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 3720 positive cases with 346 active, 3332 recovered, 42 deaths and Ganderbal has 3190 positive cases with 254 active cases, 2906 recoveries and 30 deaths.
Out of 84708 positive cases, 9866 are active, 73502 have recovered and 1340 have died including 903 in Kashmir division.
So far 1875262 samples were processed. Of them, 1790554 tested negative and 84708 positive.
Moreover, they said, 796 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 398 from Kashmir valley.
Kashmir reported five more COVID-19 related deaths today, taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1343.
Two of the victims were from Srinagar and includes a 72-year-old man from Bemina who died two days after being admitted to Chest Diseases hospital.
Also, a 77-year-old man from Natipora Srinagar died at SMHS hospital this morning, two weeks after he was admitted with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia.
Two people belonging to Baramulla and one from Budgam also died of COVID today.
With these deaths, the death toll has reached 906 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 321 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 132, Budgam 90, Pulwama 75, Kupwara 71, Anantnag 70, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 42, Shopian 32 and Ganderbal 30.
