5 die of COVID in Kashmir, J&K toll 683

494 fresh cases

Srinagar, Aug 28: Five coronavirus patients died in Kashmir division today, thus taking the toll of deaths due to Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir to 683 and 494 fresh cases of Coronavirus were reported from the Valley taking the J&K tally of the infections to 35,831.
Five patients who died today include a 76-year-old man from Mehjoor Nagar, a 65-year-old man from Tanghdar, a 62-year-old man from Sallar Pahalgam, a 60-year-old woman from Guzarbal Ganderbal and a 64-year-old man from Dalgate Srinagar.
A 76-year-old man from Mehjoor Nagar in Srinagar who was admitted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar on 24th August with diabetes, bilateral Pneumonia and other ailments died today.
Another patient, a 65-year-old man from Tanghdar in Kupwara district who was admitted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar on 27th August with Pneumonia died today.
A 62-year-old man from Sallar Pahalgam in district Anantnag who was admitted on 22nd July to SKIMS Soura died today.
Another patient, a 60-year-old woman from Guzarbal in Ganderbal who was admitted on 21th August died today.
A 64-year-old man from Dalgate in Srinagar who was admitted on 20th August to Chest Diseases hospital in Srinagar died today.
With five more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 683 including 626 from Kashmir division.
Kashmir today reported 494 fresh cases of coronavirus taking the J&K tally of the infections to 35,831 including 27,863 from Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 194 Srinagar, 40 Baramulla, 57 Pulwama, 59 Budgam, 31 Anantnag, 30 Bandipora, 25 Kupwara, 11 Kulgam, 9 Shopian and 38 from Ganderbal.
As per officials figures, 8,924 positive cases including 215 deaths and 7,049 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,766 including 99 deaths and 2,159 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,543 including 2,009 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,390 including 1,683 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Budgam, 2,254 including 49 deaths and 1,703 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,056 including 1,312 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Shopian, 2,014 cases including 1,336 and 45 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,895 including 1,649 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,678 including 1,542 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,266 including 744 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Ganderbal.
Srinagar district alone has 8,924 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 7,968.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir at present are 7,781 including 6,056 from Kashmir division.
With 651 more recoveries, a total of 27,372 patients have so far recovered in Jammu and Kashmir, which is 76.39 percent of the total cases.
