5 die of COVID-19 in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 20: A 38-year-old woman was among five people who succumbed to COVID-19 in Kashmir, taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1399 while Valley reported 348 fresh coronavirus cases taking the number of cases in J&K to 88958.
Those who died include 38-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar who succumbed to the virus at SKIMS Soura, 13 days after she was admitted to the hospital.
A 90-year-old woman from Moomin Abad Batamaloo died at SMHS hospital where she was admitted and diagnosed with bilateral Community Acquired Pneumonia.
A 65-year-old from Chelan Kulgam also died at SMHS hospital here where she was admitted with bilateral CAP on October 14.
A 75-year-old man from Sopore Baramulla died at SKIMS Bemina, four days after he was admitted there. One more victim was from Shopian.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 935 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 335 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 136, Budgam 90, Pulwama 78, Kupwara 71, Anantnag 71, Kulgam 46, Bandipora 43, Shopian 35 and Ganderbal 30.
And Kashmir reported 348 fresh Coronavirus cases today taking the number of cases in J&K to 88958.
Srinagar reported 136 cases, Budgam 34, Baramulla 32, Pulwama 30, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 39, Bandipora 32, Ganderbal 21, Kulgam 12 and Shopian 8 cases.
Srinagar has 17944 positive cases with 1715 active, 15894 recovered, 335 deaths; Baramulla has 5285 positive cases with 1304 active, 3845 recovered, 136 deaths; Pulwama reported 4463 positive cases with 271 positive cases, 4114 recovered, 78 deaths; Kulgam has 2049 positive cases with 92 active, 2271 recoveries, 46 deaths; Shopian has 2130 positive cases with 89 active, 2006 recovered and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4038 positive cases with 347 active, 3620 recovered, 71 deaths; Budgam has 5697 positive cases with 397 active and 5210 recovered, 90 deaths; Kupwara has 4098 positive cases with 314 active, 3713 recovered, 71 deaths; Bandipora has 3897 positive cases with 287 active, 3568 recovered, 42 deaths and Ganderbal has 3341 positive cases with 230 active cases, 3081 recoveries and 30 deaths.
And out of 88958 positive cases, 8124 are active, 79437 have recovered and 1397 have died including 934 in Kashmir division.
So far 2048631 samples were processed in J&K in which 1959673 tested as negative and 88958 positive.
Moreover, they said, 770 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 421 from the Kashmir valley.
