SAMBA, Dec 1: Continuing its drive against the bovine smuggling in the area, district police Samba has foiled bovine smuggling bid by rescuing five cattle at NHW Tapyal in the jurisdiction of P/S Ghagwal. A police party of Police Station, Ghagwal headed by SHO Ghagwal, Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters, Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK08F-0188 which was coming from Kathua side.
During checking of the vehicle five cattle were found inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 105/2019 U/S 188 IPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
