5 bovines rescued, one held

RAMBAN, July 23: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid, rescued 5 bovines and arrested a smuggler.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, a party from Police Station Ramban raised a special naka near Shan Palace on Jammu-Srinagar highway and intercepted a load carrier auto (Maxima) bearing registration number JK19-1887.
During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals which were being smuggled to Kashmir valley.
The arrested bovine smuggler has been identified as Jaffar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Ramsoo.
A case under FIR number 96/14 under Section 188 of RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
