UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued five animals besides arresting the accused smuggler.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Sanjeev Gupta, laid a surprise naka at Jakhani and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle, bearing Registration number JK14D-7307. During search, five bovine animals were found packed inside the vehicle. Police rescued the animals and arrested the driver, namely Manzoor Hanief of Panara, Majalta.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR number 443/2017 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act at Police Station Udhampur.
