REASI, Feb 16: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued five numbers of cattle besides arresting the accused smuggler, who was intercepted during the intervening night of February 15-16 at Arnas.
The accused smuggler, identified as Ab Rehman, son of Ab Hamid of Thuroo Pattian, was taking these bovine animals on foot towards Kashmir. Acting on some reliable information, a Police party from Police Station Arnas, led by ASI Shoket Hussain raided the spot and caught the accused.
In this regard, case FIR number 8/2020, under section 188 IPC was registered at P/S Arnas. The whole operation was conducted by SHO Arnas, Insp Rajesh Gautam, under the supervision of Adl SP Surjeet Bhagat.
