JAMMU, May 28: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today rescued five animals and arrested two smugglers.
Police also seized the Mahindra vehicle, which was being used for smuggling the animals to Kashmir Valley. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK21-9826, was intercepted on the National Highway at Domail Chenani.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Nasib Ali of Bari Brahmana and Imam Din of Jakh Kathua.
A case under relevant Section has been registered in this connection at Chenani Police Station.
