5 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Jan 15: Another attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled at Chenani when Police intercepted vehicle loaded with five bovine animals at Chenani, here today.
Based on a reliable information regarding illegal smuggling of bovine animals, A Police party of Police Station Chenani led by SI Sanjeet Sharma SHO PS Chenani under the supervision of Santokh Raj, SDPO Chenani laid a naka on National Highway for checking of vehicles. During naka checking,
The Mahindra Pickup truck, bearing registration number JK02CB- 6705, was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Sanjeet Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Chenani, Santokh Raj. Even as driver of the vehicle attempted to flee by breaking barriers, Police team chased the vehicle intercepted it at Champari. However, driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot taking advantage of heavy traffic on road.
During thorough search, five bovine animals were found loaded in the said vehicle. Police rescued all the bovine animals and seized the vehicle.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 11/2019 U/S 279/336/188 RPC, 3PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
