5 arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley

JAMMU, Mar 21: Gangyal police arrested five persons for smuggling 28 bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka and signaled two trucks bearing registration numbers PB06V-6433 and JK14A-6265 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the drivers accelerated the vehicles and escaped from the spot.
Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicles. During checking, police rescued 28 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five persons.
The accused have been identified as Bikram Singh, son of Puran Singh of Ramban,
Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi of Dansal, at present Maralian, Karanjeet Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Ramban, Happy, son of Kulvinder of Punjab and Jamat Ali, son of hakim Din of Maralian.
They were trying to smuggle the bovines to Valley, but their attempt was foiled by the active cops of Gangyal police.
A case under FIR Number 38/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Gangyal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal police station Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
