JAMMU, Mar 21: Agitated over the proxy directives of BJP led Central Government through Governor to the Army for vacating the land in the State just to lure the PDP for power, the Panthers Party leaders and activists led by party chairman Harshdev Singh held protest demonstration  at Exhibition ground here today.
Mr Singh was accompanied by NPP president  Balwant Singh Mankotia,  State Young Panthers president  Yash Pal Kundal and others.  The angry protesters raised the slogans of ‘BJP Fouj se Zameen  Khali Karwana…Band Karo… Band Karo’,  ‘BJP Desh ki Suraksha Se Khilwaad Karna…Band Karo… Band Karo’,….. ‘BJP .. Hai   Hai’ and so on.
Launching a blistering attack on the BJP led NDA Government for taking hasty strides beyond imagination to forge a re-alliance with the PDP, Harshdev Singh said that the Saffron party was all set to jeopardize the security of the State and compromise the National interest to appease and lure the PDP once again for sharing the cradle of power in the State of J&K.  He said that the BJP was exasperated over the delay in the Government formation in the State which has issued proxy deadline through the Governor to the Army for vacating the land from certain zones, in a bid to move forward on the PDP centric “Agenda of Alliance”.
Mr Singh disclosed that the Governor had persuaded the Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D S Hooda to hand over 16.30 acres of State land held by it adjoining the campus of University of Jammu, 212 acres of land held by it at Tatoo Grounds in Srinagar, 456.60 kanals of land at High Grounds, Anantnag in South Kashmir and land held at lower plateau Khurba Thang in Kargil and also near Jammu airport before  March 31 this year. Terming the preliminary exercise as obnoxious, Mr Singh reckoned that it would seriously dent the morale of the Armed forces while paving the way for the withdrawal of AFSPA from the State in a phased manner.
Accusing the BJP of crossing all red lines for the lust of power, NPP leader  recalled that the Saffron party which bashed the supporters of Afzal Guru in the Union capital following the infamous sedition row, altogether continued to hobnob with his supporters in Kashmir.
