RAJOURI, July 31: Five moonshiners were arrested, 700 Kg Lahan destroyed and 120 ltrs illicit liquor seized, while five working stills were destroyed on spot by sleuth of Excise range Rajouri in excise raids conducted in the district.
Led by Dr Sajad Majid, Inspector Excise under the supervision of Afaq Ahmed, Excise and Taxation Officer Rajouri-Poonch range the team conducted series of raids at villages Lam, Jhanger, Kha no 2, Nar Singh Pura, Dalhori, Dhangri, Dani Dhar, Argi, Chingus, Soughat and Panjpper, Potha, Brow, Sanchal, Gharat Borow, Gooni, Raj Pur Pathat Sarnoo, Grat Chackli, Sawni Grati, Bagla, Bal, Bathuni and Payomanyala areas of Rajouri district.
These raids were conducted under direct supervision of Mrs Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu.
Five persons were arrested, during the course of raids and booked under Excise Act. The arrested persons were identified as Krishan Lal S/o Chuni Lal R/o Paymanyala, Balbir Singh S/o Karanal Singh R/o Ball, Sudesh Kumari W/o Parshotam Lal and Kaka Singh S/o Sita Ram R/o Saranoo and Shamshar Singh S/o Krishan Singh R/o Bathuni.
