46 NHM employees terminated

JAMMU, Feb 16: Gover-nment today terminated services of 46 NHM employees across the State for their authorized absence from their duties.
“The terminated employees include 7 from Bandipora, 6 from Udhampur, 14 from Kathua, 10 from Kupwara and 9 from Rajouri,” an official spokesperson said.
The action of the Government came following notices to the erring employee to resume their duties and their defiance of the orders and misconduct.
“The unauthorised absence of the NHM staff from duties since 14th January 2019, which has caused great sufferings to the provision of health care delivery to the general masses, compounded by the prevailing extreme weather conditions across the State has pushed the administration to take action against the erring employees in view of the public interest,” he added.
The spokespersons said after the notices being served to the employees to resume work, the District Health Societies under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners have initiated action against such employees who failed to resume the work by showing defiance of the orders and misconduct.
Meanwhile, he said, all the NHM employees have resumed the work in Ganderbal district today.
