46 bovines rescued

POONCH, Nov 27: Tightening noose around the bovine smuggling in district Poonch, the police rescued 46 bovine animals from the smugglers in Surankote area last night.
Official sources said that on the directions of SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra teams headed by DySP Surankote, Tanveer Jeelani, SHO Surankote and I/C PP Behramgalla established nakas at Buffliaz, Behramgalla and Panar bridge on Mughal Road last night and seized 46 bovine animals being smuggled to Kashmir.
During naka checking the police apprehended six bovine smugglers and seized two vehicles bearing Registration numbers JK12B- 0223 & JK22- 3251 which were on the way towards Kashmir.
In this connection case FIRs 399,400, 401 & 402 of 2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station, Surankote and investigation taken up.
