JAMMU, June 5: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) today inaugurated its 8th Academic Summer Camp for 18 days.
Forty-five girls from classes 7th to 10th, belonging to rural and border areas, have joined the residential academic camp. Full free boarding and lodging facilities are provided to the students during the camp.
HBET is providing educational support and financial assistance to children (especially girls) of needy families from the far flung areas since 1997.
The camp has been very fruitful for these students (all girls) where intensive coaching on their syllabus is imparted to them. They also receive lectures on life, skills development, attend educational excursions, picnics and evaluation tests while counseling sessions are arranged with psychologists. The children take part in Yoga and sports activities for physical fitness.
More than 45 children came with their parents/guardians from villages such as Akalpur, Arnia, Birpur, Chak, Dansal, Doomi, Rehian, Saruinsar, etc to join the camp. They mingled with the HBET team, teachers and sponsors during the inauguration function.
The Managing Trustee informed the participants about the objectives of the camp and the need for everyone to make the best use of this opportunity to improve their academic standards.
