45 animals burnt alive

SRINAGAR, Feb 23: As many as 45 animals were burnt alive in a devastating fire at Khurhama area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district last night.
As per Fire & Emergency Department, a cowshed which belongs to Abdul Hameed Mugal, a resident of Shrant Doban Khurhama caught fire during midnight and 45 animals including sheep and goats were burnt alive in the incident.
They said the entire cowshed made of wood was gutted in the incident and animals were burnt alive.
Police officials while confirming the incident said that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
“A case has been registered and further investigation in this regard has been taken up,” Police said.
